As the 2024-25 season comes to a close, our club reflects proudly on a year of perseverance, progress, and recognition across our JUEL and JUEL Prep programs. Both teams demonstrated outstanding commitment, individual excellence, and strong team character that are hallmarks of our basketball community.
We also hosted the JUEL Championship weekend at Queen's University and have to thank Tourism Kingston, the Kingston and District Board of Approved Basketball Officials and the 50+ additional people from the local basketball community in making that a success.
JUEL: Resilience and Redemption

The JUEL team’s season was a true story of grit and growth. They opened the season with a challenging 11-game losing streak but refused to back down. Through hard work and belief in one another, they stormed back with an impressive 8-game win streak, ultimately finishing the season with a 9-13 record and securing 10th place in the league standings.
In the playoffs, the team fell just short in a heart-pounding 73-72 loss to Halton—the eventual silver medalists—in the first round. This led to being placed in the 'pool of death,' where they met a hot Niagara team and the eventual gold medalist London squad. Unfortunately, they did not advance.
While the ending was bittersweet, the fight shown on the court spoke volumes about the team’s evolution over the year.
Individual JUEL Honors:
Isabelle Carson was named to the prestigious 2nd All-JUEL Team, recognizing her as one of the top performers in the league.
Isabelle Carson 2nd Team All-Star Emma Smallgange and Audrey Smart earned the Athletica Elite Community Service Award, a testament to their dedication to making an impact off the court.

JUEL Prep: Poised and Competitive
The JUEL Prep team enjoyed a strong and consistent season, finishing 5th overall in a highly competitive league. After a promising 2-0 start in the playoff round, they were ultimately defeated in the quarterfinals by Hamilton.
Throughout the season, the Prep team showed depth, discipline, and a winning mentality that bodes well for the future.
