Tryouts 2025-26

The St. Lawrence Lightning are excited to announce our tryouts for our JUEL and JUEL Prep teams for the 2025-26 seasons. They will all be held at Queen's University in Bartlett Gym (Mitchell Hall):

• Monday August 18

  • 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm JUEL Prep

  • 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm JUEL

• Monday August 25

  • 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm JUEL Prep

  • 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm JUEL

Cost will be $40 to tryout whether you attend 1 or both. You may pay via e-transfer to admin@stlawrencelightning.ca or bring cash to the first session.

All players must register online before you attend a tryout.

Ages

• U16 JUEL Prep tryouts will be for any female player born in 2010-2012.

• U19 JUEL tryouts are female players born in 2007-2009.

Season

While our tryouts will be in August, we try not to conflict with the girls high school basketball season (Sept - Nov). So while we may have a few team functions or option workouts during that time, our practices won't officially begin until your high school season is over.

Both our teams will play in the 2025-2026 JUEL and JUEL Prep leagues. League play starts in December and will run until May 22-23, 2026.

Both teams will get ~ 50 practices and 30+ games. Practices will typically be Monday/Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons when not traveling. Expect practices to be in shared equally between Kingston and Brockville.

While we will host the 2026 JUEL Championships in Kingston, we expect most most games to be in the GTA.

Team fees are not set but the expectation is around $1750 for the season.
